Adirondack chair plans by scott Masi-…

I’ve been looking at all the plans to build a good quality adirondack chair out of mahogany with a curved back and Scott Masi’s plan looks good to me.It will be my first chair of this type but some plans sure would help so I can get a set of patterns started and do it right the first time.My last swing out of white oak is a yearly finishing job as well so Mahogany is my choice.Any ideas…

Andy, log on to http://www.u-bild.com and click on "outdoor projects." They have a quartet of Adirondack chairs and also a child's size under "new projects."

*Dale,A newbie comment and question...I've looked at many of the sites referred to in FW Discussion group and it seems most of the Adirondack plans don't provide contours (e.g., shaped supports for the seat and curved [slightly concave] support for the back). This type of design is sooooo much more comfortable than right angles! Do you know of any that provide contour in both the seat and the back? Also, I'm specifically looking for a chair and foot-rest combination that is all hinged together -- someone told me they saw such a design in a store earlier this year. Thanks!Jamie on Bainbridge Isl.
*Some time ago, in the early to mid nineties, I saw a very unique Adirondack chair advertised in a catalog. I believe that it was Smith & Hawken, but I'm not sure. It was so distinctive that even a few of my "jaded" woodworking friends remaked about how cool it looked. It wasn't all straight angles, it was really graceful - with a single arm that curved from one side, around the back, and over to make the other arm. I kept the catalog for quite a while, but when I moved, it got tossed out. Does anyone out there have the slightest idea how to check on this chair? I really only need the picture, not the plans. I called S&H and they don't have any recollection, but might not tell even if they did, since the designer may have some rights, etc. Still looking.
