Adirondack dimensions for side base piec
I have a printout of the Adirondack chair from issue 192, pp.54-61. I have bought the wood, cleaned the shop, and reached for the plans to begin. The first logical starting point is the side base piece. On page 56, Tom Begnal merely says to print the picture out at 400%, make a template, and start.
UHHHHH. . .400%?! Why not just give us a grid so we can plot our own template? Or a schematic with dimensions? I don’t have a CLUE where to go to have something enlarged 400%–much less how much it costs. He gives us the overall dimensions but does not give us the arc for the seat slats, the angle cuts for the first two slats nor the notch for the lower back slat.
What’s a person like me to do?
Sincerely,

None of those are really critical. If you look on the previous page, you will see some dimensions for the arcs.
If you want complete, full-scale plans for an Adirondack chair, they are available from a number of places. For example: http://www.leevalley.com/wood/page.aspx?c=2&p=32755&cat=1,46158,42665

Your reply is greatly appreciated! I don't know why I didn't think of this myself. Had I done so, I would not have spent the last two days being bored out of mind from not having this project to work on.I am truly indebted to you for your help and kindness.Dick Pewthers

I'll make one for you and post it in a little while.
