I have been asked to make an Adirondack rocking chair. I have made a number of adirondacks but not a rocker. Does anyone have suggestions and/or plans?
thx

Buck, there are a couple of sites who give out plans for Adirondack furniture Ubuild is one and I think Ezbuild is another I think.
If you build a chair then just cut a couple of curved pieces out of a wide board about a foot longer than your chair screw them on and Bobs your uncle. Rgds. Boysie Slan Leat
I bought plans from Lee Valley- Pretty good- I found it wise to use 2X material for the legs, which allowed for a lap joint with the rockers-
I will second Yogi on this. I have not built the rocker version of this chair, but the straight legged version is great. I built four of these for my parents out of poplar (which was subsequently painted) and they love them. Great design.

Hey Buck,
I've seen rocker versions of the chair, but IMHO if you make a rocker out of it, you loose one of the great benefits of the chair, namely the wide arms are the perfect place for your drink and bowl of snacks.
