The Google AdWords program was not working here — too many irrelevant ads. So I pulled the plug earlier this week. We will be trying some other ad types soon.

Hopefully not any time in the near future.
Thank you for listening to your subscribers.
Why don't you simply reproduce the classified ads from the magazine in its own tab here on Knots? The advertisers who already support you would greatly appreciate it and so would we. The companies regularly found in the print classifieds sell things that we all use.
You can give your classified advertisers the option of paying an additional fee for their ad to appear on Knots. The additional fees, of course, represent the additional revenue it appears you are looking for.
We have sold ad spots on Knots to some of our regular advertisers; those will be rolling out this fall and winter.
Maybe that's enough? Perhaps?
I am sorry to hear about the ads not working. I personally would rather see the ads than to see your company go broke. I really enjoy this web site along with your books and magazines.
Mr. B, thanks. If the ads were relevant to fww and sanctioned (read vetted for bozos and thieves) by Taunton, I think that there would have been less said. Paddy

Thank you for the communication. I think "we" have tried to be honest with you (after the intiial shock) with both supportive and negative responses. I appreciate your confidence in your readers.
