here is one of mine ,
About 25 years ago an elderly widow asked me to build a William and Mary chest of drawers . Her late husband would buy nice looking Mahogany wherever he found it on his overseas travels .Little did I know the impact this wonderful person would have on our lives. After milling it turned out to be mostly birdseye and curly and beautiful. After completing the chest she asked if I would build her a companion chest with the remaining lumber , I gladly complied . I mentioned that we were looking for a house . Two day’s later she called me to go look at a nice older house .She bought it and we rented it and then bought it from her . It was a few blocks from her home so we visited a lot . She was 72 and I was about 25 when we met. She taught me much about finances , real estate ,interest , business ,and religion , among many other things. She was a great mentor not to mention a fairy Godmother . From many years of wise investing she was very wealthy . At the age of 92 she peacefully passed on .A few weeks after I got a call from the attorney handling her estate. He told me she had left me the two “handmade wooden chests” that I had made for her . I will always treasure her memory.

Great Story. It's like my dad always said "Good things happen to people who do good things"
