With all the talk about Riving Knives, is there anyone out there involved in producing an aftermarket setup for existing saws like the Delta Hybrids?

There's a guy working on a thing called the BORK, though at present I believe it's limited to a few models. See http://shop.walnutacrewoodworking.com/product.sc?categoryId=1&productId=6

I've had the BORK installed on my new Shop Fox 1677 for about a month. It'll also fit the left tilt Griz 1023's, and there is a version for the Craftsman 22114 & 22124 that should also fit the Steel City hybrids. It's an interesting and clever device. A bit cumbersome to get adjusted correctly because it's hard to reach but once dialed in and mated with a ZCI it works as promised. Here' a link to a recent discussion about it at SMC.

I have an SC with riving knife, so my interest's academic. I think the OP has a Delta hybrid, so the Craftsman version might fit that too.
I find the concept of the finned back that you adjust for thickness a bit disconcerting. Have you had to do that? (SC gives you one knife for thin-kerf, another for regular.) Perhaps it's to keep the price down? Bit steep at $100.
Jim
I have not adjusted the thickness yet, but I'd definitely prefer separate knives. The BORK is still in the development stage so maybe a choice of kerf width is something he'll offer in future versions. I didn't think the price was too bad...a good splitter runs in that range and a RK has several advantages, though I'd always love to see it sell for less!
Jim,
Thanks, I'll check it out. At the present time I'm trying to design a unit for my Delta Hybrid but being somewhat of a new guy on the block up here in the Northwest, I don't have a mechineshop to work with. I'll keep you folks posted. Thankks again.
