Merle, the Quincy compressors are excellent. I have a 20 gal 3 hp Quincy on wheels for about 10 years. Very quiet, large output for this size. I believe you get 6.9 cfmp at 90psi 9.2 at 40 psi. They are made in Quincy Illinois. They are portable as far as moving around a shop, not practical for installations on job sites. They are too top heavy for loading and unloading in a truck.Check websites for nearby dealers.

Mike went to their web cite and these all look to be industrial machines. All that were displayed were reciprocating and rotary screw models. I need something simple and practicable. Thanks, I may give them a call and find out if they have something cheaper. Anybody have an opionion on Home Depots Husky models?

Merle, tried to find the same compressor I bought years ago, had as much luck as you did. Call them, probably save time .I have used a number of compressors thru the the years, never used the Husky though.

Do you have a Sears service center near you? If so, get there Quickly!
The one down the street from me has a (typical) Duke's Mixture of Fantistic Bargains on compressors right now. I dunno why but they seem to keep hauling those big puppies in -- I mean those slobberin' St Bernards that hold 33 gals of air at 150 psi and promise 6.4 cfm at 90 psi. (My oiler spits 6.9 @ 90 but it's only a 25 g tank.)
Well... since those are made by the same now-former Pentair company that makes the Porter-Cable compressors (sorry, I just couldn't recall the name...) I recon that they'll do as well as any other OIL-less compressor will ever do -- actually prolly better. For somewhat-portable and still Big-Time "poop-out" at 110vac, that's not a bad starting point. (And yes, you can do better .. that remains a "starting" point as well as a finish point -- depending on your needs and budget.)

Oh well, Sears,CH,Husky,Porter Cable is their really that big of a difference? I doubt that I'll outlive the unit I buy anyway/Thanks ladies and gents.
