Hey guys and gals, my workshop air filter died and it’s time to get a new one. Just started looking for a replacement and open to suggestions. Any suggestions. My shop is 1,800 sf. Not tied to any particular brand and would like to find a review of several brands if you know where I can find one.

What type of filter are you referring to? An ambient air scrubber like a JDS-750 (no longer made)? If so, I believe the Jet 1000B is the current darling, hitting the price to performance sweet spot.
For the larger shop, I found this product - Jet 708615 AFS-2000 800/1200/1700 CFM 3 Speed Air Filtration System.
I'm not a fan of Jet products, in general; however, they seem to have an excellent reputation in the air filtration arena. This unit would be over-kill for smaller shops, but may be the size your need... for 1,800 sq'.
The JDS reference, above, is an unfortunate story of a good company, with good products, who seem to have lost their way: the Multi-router, the original miter fence upgrade, and excellent air filtration units. I think they are out of business.
The other side of this question is the recent concept of 'dust collection at source'... the engineering-in of drawing dust directly from the tool - Festool lives in this space, and Bosch is gamely playing catch-up.
The air scrubber and attention to collecting dust-at-source will make the shop a better place.
