Yes dick, when my old brad gun walked off on a job I saw a nailer/stapler combo on sale for a very low price and thought what the hell. It's a Craftsman and actually works quite well except for one big flaw. When you go to shoot only brads it leaves the wider hole of the staples for you to fill which is a big no no when you're trying to be selective and inconspicuous with nail holes. Maybe this doesn't happen with other brands but if you think about the mechanics of it, I don't see how. It only shot up to 1 1/2" and it was a no return so I shrugged and went out and bought an 18 ga. brad gun which shot up to 2" nails, also a Craftsman. That was 2 years ago and I use them both on a constant basis and have been very pleased. I'm finding I'm glad to have a stapler and am using it as much as the brad nailer where holes aren't that important for the extra holding power. Also I was pleasently surprised at the Craftsman being such a good tool for the price.
thanks for the input. in retrospect i think i will buy two separate tools for convience and at harbor freight you can buy two for almost the price of one combo.
