I am building four kitchen chairs that will have an upholstered seat. I don’t like the electric stapler that I currently have and I know professionals use air assisted ones. Appreciate any recommendations for best brand to get. Thanks for the help.

I would check out the Porter Cable offering. They make an upholstery staple gun. I have not used that specific gun but have their 18 ga and pin nailer and have been very happy with the performance
thanks I will check that out
I would agree with JD. I have Been using my Porter Cable guns for over 20 years and have never had any problems. I do not have the PC stable gun.
Why not just use upholstery tacks?
thanks for the input
Porter Cable is a dying (dead) company. They exist only in name now, long ago acquired by StanleyBlackAndDecker. They did recently sign a deal to make Tractor Supply the exclusive dealer of Porter Cable. But let’s not kid ourselves, PC is just DeWalts economy line now.
Get a gun from a company that specializes in them. I suggest Senco. Or, go budget and just buy the Arrow from Home Depot. Cheap but surprisingly reliable, and they do make all the staples after all.
I needed one for a project stretching canvas images for framing a gallery show. I bought one from (gasp!!) horrible freight and it was and is fine. It loads the same ammo as the others, and misfires occasionally, but for time-to- time use and a small spend... I'm a fan. My other guns won't talk to it, I feel sad about that.
thanks for the help
I took an upholstery course from Mike Mascelli and we used the BeA stapler. It was a great tool that was easy to use with great results. I don't recall it jamming even once.
BeA 71/16-421 Fine Wire 22-Gauge Stapler
thanks I will check that one
It is worth having a look at professional options.
I bought a Senco nailer. Compared with my cheapo air nailer, it is chalk and cheese. Much better fit and finish, more positive trigger more adjustable (though not by much).
For the amount I use it, it's probably not enough to be a game changer, but the 23g nailer is one I find excuses to use because it is such a pleasure to hold. Worth a thought...
thanks I will check that one
I've used the Arrow pneumatic model. No issues.
thanks I will check that one
thanks for the help
I have a PC that works just fine but I haven't used it since I discovered upholsterers.
