I’ve been reading the various threads on the Akeda jig, as well as the excellent demo on woodshopdemos. It does look pretty straightforward, and for the cost of the jig, I would expect it to be capable of top notch work product.
But the question I have has to do with the bits and stock thickness. From what I can gather, the dovetail bit you use is matched to the size of the stock, for example, a 11 degree bit for 1/2″ stock. Is this a rigid scale that presents a problem with odd-sized stock? How does this differ from Leigh?
thank you in advance,

You can use the smallest angle for any thickness and the jig will still work fine.
the bigger angles are for thinner stock.
Some just look better than others, but the one that comes with the jig will work on everything.
The proof is in the puddin'
