Can a dust collection system be hooked up to my dryer vent ? My dryer vent has about a 20 foot run to the outside with a couple of sharp bend and frequently needs cleaning. My dust collection sytem is about two feet away in my garage shop and I’m thinking this should work well.

Why would you want to do this? Combining moisture with sawdust is a recipe for problems.

A Woodworkers mind should be the sharpest tool in the shop!
Because it draws a huge amount of air, your dust collection system will suck out a large amount of your cool air in summer and warm air in winter. As long as you're happy living with outside air temps that part won't be bad.
Also, since it creates such negative pressure inside the house it will be hard for bathroom and kitchen vents to function properly when the dryer is going.
There's also a good chance that gaps around some windows and doors will whistle.
Worse, it can prevent exhaust gases from venting properly in a furnace and hot water heater, drawing into the house much of the CO that should be going out the vent.
As a contractor I'd gently tell a client that this isn't an option, but installing a $100 inline booster fan made for that purpose is.
Good venting.

IdahoDon,Thanks for the info on the booster fan. I'll go with that.
And amongst all those problems, it seems to me, as I understand the situation, he would also me filling his dryer with sawdust.
Can't say about hooking the dust collection system up as a permanent solution, but as a one time use to unclog the vent line, it worked great.
Because drying time had significantly increased, I suspected that the line from the dryer's wall vent to the outside of the house was clogged, so I hooked up one of the system's hoses to the wall fitting and, voila, a large clump of lint was seen making its way to the large shop vac that was set up on the receiving end of the dust collection system.

I believe all you will accomplish is to collapse your dryer vent.
