hi folks…newbie here(to forum), i have not been able to find a more affordable alternative to brusso straight knife hinges; an excellent product, but pricey at around $20 + . i’ve tried some others and have been disappointed in their quality. they don’t need to be as good as brusso, but not sloppy either. hope this wasn’t discussed to death recently.
HELP.
thanks, squeak

Brusso is known as Jewelry for woodworkers. There are some other knife hinges available but, they don't approach the precision of the Brusso. Just my 2cents worth.

Is that $20.00 a pair or each? If it's the former thats a bargain for the quality. The next closest thing is to make your own. If you've never done it before plan on spending the better part of a day doing so. Now does that put their price in perspective?
Lee Valley sells a non-brusso knife hinge. (Can we mention them on this site, still?)
Just go to their site, go to Hardware>Hinges>knife hinges. There is one listing for brusso, and one for a generic.
I have used them and they are good quality; smooth operation, nice and thick.
