Hi Folks,
Currently building a desk, which I’d like to mount the destop to the substructure with some kind of decorative aluminium mounting system, such that the desk will “float” circa 1 inch off the framework. For the life of me, I cannot source any such hardware. Perhaps I’m using the wrong term for my hardware search? Can any offer advice and/or good suppliers for same?
Best Regards.

I'm not quite sure what you are describing. Aluminum is easy to work with a table saw and router. When I was working as a Metalsmith we made all kinds of hardware. We did a lot of Deco type stuff with brass and had them nickle plated. Black nickle is quite the nice look. Much more elegant than chrome. Specialty hardware is more difficult to find and is typically a custom item. That's why folks would come to us.

Thanks Guys,
http://www.mockett.com is the closest I've got so far. The "term" I seemed to be missing was "standoffs". However, these system seem to focus on glass tops. What I'm looking for is something similar in concept, but can be attached/fixed to the underneath of the table top. Also, I'm looking for something more engineered than a cylinder. Perhaps something with a sweep in design. Is there another term, other than "standoffs" that I should be using in my search?
Best Regards.
That certainly helps by identifying what you are looking for. You could try adding terms to your search like decorative standoffs. You could also modify a stock item such as a bathroom towel holder and use the standoff portion.
