Amana Cutter for Festool Domino DF700
I’m about ready to purchase a Festool Domino DF 700. I’m reseaching all the accessories that I will need for my next project.
Has anyone had experience with the Amana Domino Cutters? Cutting performance and longevity of sharp blades is my primary criteria for purchase. Price is a much lower consideration. So if anyone has experience with the Amana Domino cutters vs Festool I would appreciate your input.

P.S. Some of the Festool Domino Cutters are currently on back order.

I don't have experience with the Domino bits specifically but I can tell you Amana is brand you can trust and have had good results with other bits and blades.
esch, Thank you. Amana's reputation is what peaked my interest.
I own Amana and CMT cutters for my DF700, both are good quality. I can’t speak about longevity, yet, because I haven’t used them enough. I have Amana shaper cutters, though, and they’ve kept sharp very well. I remember a couple of years ago when I was researching them, someone commented that the Amana they bought made their tenons fit very slightly looser than the Festool, but not enough to worry about. I haven’t had that issue with my Festool tenons (and I mostly make my own tenons anyway).
I haven't used anything but Festool cutters. But Seneca Woodworking makes some very useful accessories.
Agree on Seneca. I have the Domiplate, Domishim, and metric-to-imperial height gauge, but for me the most important thing is their adapter for using DF500 cutters in my DF700. I went back and forth about which Domino to buy, not wanting to make an expensive mistake. Entry doors, chairs, outdoor furniture? DF700. Cabinet doors, alignment, smaller pieces? DF500. Unless I was back in the big production mode I was in decades ago, I can't afford both. The adapter made the DF700 an easy decision for me. One tool to rule them all!
John and eddo, Thank you. I've come to the same conclusion about the DF700 and Seneca products.
I am considering buying:
1. DOMINO Joiner DOMINO XL DF 700 EQ-Set
2. the Seneca Woodworking Small Mortise Kit for Festool Domino XL DF700
3. TSO Products DBF-45 BigFoot v2.0 Base System for Festool Domino
4. Plus size(s) of Domino cutters for next project - and eventually probably all of the sizes.
Have you found any other Festool Domino or other manufactures products that you would recommend?
I take on projects of all sizes and plan to use the Domino to complement traditional mortise and tenon joinery and for alignment of panels and plywood (I do not own a biscuit joiner).
The Dockplate XL and a Ramon Vazquez Dock are definitely tops on my list.
I don't own one of these, and I would probably make it myself anyway, but this is an interesting addition. Seneca Tools makes add-ons for this add-on. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yj7YBg34evQ&t=67s
Another review of the same Domino Dock. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FJe7tnI7ydk
eddo, Thank you. I'll consider the Domino Dock for the future. I'd definately want the Seneca Woodworking Dock Plate XL and Kreg Clamp to secure the work piece. The second youtube video had a 20,000 rpm oscillating blade less than 1 inch from fingers. Very bad safety practice from my perspective.
Yep, people do stupid things, on and off YouTube. :-)
