American Machine Smoothing Plane

Hello, I am fairly new to woodworking , at least serious woodworking. Does anyone have any info on hand planes manufactured by the American machine and Research Corp (no longer manucaturing them). I have contacted the company and requested info but that sounded ify at best. I am particularly intrested in their #4 smothing plane – Thanks in advance!

I have never heard of them, but that is irrelevant. "You contacted the company an they sound "iffy" at best". Now that does sound relevant!
