I was given a few small logs of amur (sp.?) cork. The outside is partially rotted and the biggest diameter is probably 8″. Seems to have an olive color. Anyone have any experience with this wood, what it’s good for, etc. thanks

I have no idea which species of cork you have but in general, cork makes for excellent flooring and anywhere else acoustic dampening qualities are desired.
Cork flooring and cork acoustical products, along with wine corks and other cork products, are made from the bark of the cork oak, Quercus suber. The wood itself is not cork like.
