I often read complaints about ‘customer service’ but I have good news to report.
Recently I have had some minor problems with my glue-ups. So, I bought a 48″, ‘precision straightedge’ and checked the jointer table on my MinImax FS30 combo. I found it was slightly “out”.
On Thursday morning I emailed Sam Blasco, my salesman at MiniMax, and asked about alignment procedures. I received an email back saying that I should phone him while near the machine and he would “talk” me through the process.
Yesterday afternoon, 6 hours after the original email, we made contact and the procedure – very simple – was described. I call that GREAT customer support.

"I call that GREAT customer support." Me too! Kudos to Mr. Blasco.
I think that Sam has been a great addition to the MM team. Very knowledgeable and responsive. Even though he is not in tech support, I now call him with any issue concerning MM.
I am happy to hear that you have the same experience with Sam.
It is good to have positive news to report. I'm glad you have shared my experiences.Frosty"I sometimes think we consider the good fortune of the early bird and overlook the bad fortune of the early worm." FDR - 1922
As a courtesy, you may want to drop MiniMax a line detailing your positive experience with their salesman -- it'll really help his career. That way, MM wont inadvertantly fire him for not meeting his sales quota because of the amount of time he spends on the phone providing tech support. Just a thought, and a nice gesture, too.
I had a VERY positive experience with Minimax a three years ago. I ordered an MM20 bandsaw, the shipping company arrived with a damaged crate, I refused to accept it, called MM and 10 days later another saw arrived. No hassles at all. I guess the point is, MM didn't start
passing the buck off to the shipping company (which was responsible). Rather, they handled the problem and got me a new saw asap. Great company and, by the way, the saw is a keeper...
