I scoured our archive and was only able to find one review of an Anant smoothing plane that was published in 2005. I'm not sure if it applies to the models you are inquiring about, but maybe it will point you in the right direction.
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner. It's our policy to not use the Expert Forum to review or recommend individual products, but we should have let you know about this earlier.
You might try posting this same question in the Knots forum. There are a ton of woodworkers out there who will be able to offer first-hand suggestion.
