Hi Everyone!
Andaroba
I have a chance to pick up a good size amount of this wood. It looks like Mahogany only a little more brown. It is about as heavy as Honduran and has a better color and grain then African Mahogany. I have a plank of it and will work it into something soon, but by all appearances, feel and the way it cuts seems to be just like Mahogany.
I have scanned the net and can’t seem to find any info about this wood. Does anyone know anything about it??? Does it resist decay and rot like Mahogany? Any info would help!!
Don’t want to pick up 1600BF without some more info about this wood.
Thanks!

cant find the exact name but considering the names are the same but for one letter .... and you did mention that it is a substitut for Mahogany

Thanks Adam!
I am sure that is the wood.....just spelled it wrong. Anyway that really helps me determine how I can use the wood. First link said it is insect resistant and that is my main concern as I will be using it to make gingerbread trim for a very old house.
Anyone know what kind of prices this wood goes for??
