i am new at this so this is the second time i have tried to ask a question. if it has been answered and i missed it, please tell me how to find old q and a. does it come to my email or does it get posted.
my question: i have seen expert turners use angle grinders with attachments to sand while turning on the lathe. i have sensitivity to vibration(carpal tunnel) so i would like to know what angle grinders you might suggest as well as what attachments.

Although an angle grinder can be used adapting it for sanding is problematic. Better is to just mount a sanding mandrel in an electric drill and sand while the work is spinning in the lathe. I cover the practice in depth in Turn a Bowl available from Taunton Press. Hook and loop sanding mandrels with a thick foam backing can be obtained from The Sanding Catalogue, Packard Woodworking, Craft Supplies USA and others.
