another blade sharpening question
With all of this talk about blades I am wondering if many/any people sharpen, touch up, their own carbide tipped blades? I see that some still do with the HSS ones.
In the past I have usually just purchased two of each blade that I like and send the dull one off to be sharpened when needed. A perhaps pricey alternative but it helps with the down time.

Diamond wheels or similar are used to sharpen carbide blades. They are expensive and require a special setup to align with the teeth...ergo, a professional shop to do this for you. I have never tried using a diamond stone by hand on a carbide saw blade, though I have on a carbide router bit, and it did improve the cut some. JL
