Hello,
Is there anybody out there who has upgraded their Jet 10″ cabinet saws with the Excalibur Blade Cover/Dust Extractor? If you have what did you use for the Anti Kickback device?
Thanks – Scott

MSD,
Yes, I've been using the Excalibur for over a year now and think it works beautifully. I also upgraded it by installing some strip brushes along the sides to help contain dust. I'll try to post an image later.
For kickback I use anti- kickback wheels which are widely available in many catalogs from different manufacturers.
The wheels also help keep material tight to the fence.
Rather helpful when wrestling with sheet material .
Hope that helps.
Tom
IronDog,
Are you refering to products like "Board Buddies?"$ Bill
I am indeed referring to "board buddies"!
Tom,
Tom,
Do some of the manufacturers call their anti-kickback devices "Board Buddies"? As far as quality, would you personally recommend one brand over another?
Thanks!
MSD
Ps What did you think about the joke I attached?
Hi,
No I don't have any preference.
I have used "board buddies" in the past and was happy with them.
Right now I using a different brand that clamps to the fence and is more adjustable than the board buddies. I know you're going to want to know the brand but it escapes me at the moment.
I'll try to check later. And try to post the picture I promised!
Tom
Tom,
Thanks for the info and getting back to me so quickly. I'll look forward to getting the brand name and where to purchase. The picture will be a bonus.
Talk to you later - MSD
"Board Buddies" is a brand name of one type of devise. There are others. I use a "RipStrate"
Howie,
Where can I get more info on Rip Straight?
Thanks!
MSD
The distributor is Woodworkers Warehouse.
I'll check it out, thanks for your help
Is there a splitter involved anywhere in this future set-up?

I have a 5lb splitter, it came with the chain saw I just bought... I'm serious.

I am very happy with the Excaliber. I didn't use any splitter for a while, just a feather board and toed the fence out a few thou. When Beismeyer came out with the plug in splitter for the Jet I put one on and it works great too. I found the pawls got in the way on narrow rips, so I cut them off - but that's just me.
