I have just built a dining table out of solid mahogany legs and a mahogany veneer top. I would like to finish it with antique black stain but am having trouble finding it. Can you help?
Thanks.

BroncoB,
You can make a blackish dye from using vinegar and steel wool or rusted objects. (refer to the post dated May 25th on ebonizing.)
You could also simply use a water or oil soluble dye. To maximize it's coloring power, make it up double strength. Be SURE and test any of these on sample pieces followed by a sealer. You will want to see exactly what you are going to get long before you put it on your table. You may find you have to cut them to get what you want. Be sure and take good notes on proportions
Can you be more specific on what you mean by " having a hard time finding it"?

Thanks for your quick response. I was unable to find it at any of the paint stores in the Couer d'Alene area. Tried Google and although antique black was mentioned it was in reference to a piece of furniture that was already finished and was for sale.
