Hi,
I am currently working on restoring a antique drop front French desk in the Louis the XVI taste and I am not sure what finish I should use for it. Its all fruitwood veneer so its quite delicate. Ive been recommended tung oil, shellac, and artists liquin as a top coat. Does anyone have any recommendations? I want the finish to be strong and stable but still allow for the veneer to flex. I also dont want something that will discolor and chip off over time. Thanks for the help : )
Nick
Also as a side note, does anyone know where I could source some matching veneer for a couple of patches?

Im not sure why, but the website wont load the image. I tried including it in the original post, but it wouldn't work.
