Any ideas who made this plane? Clifton style?
Sorry to jump on the ask as a new member, but, I’d love to hear anyone’s ideas on a maker of this little bullnose plane?
Bought it online when looking for a replacement iron, but I certainly like it more than my Record version and the whole thing was a similar price.
Iv’e been looking online, the closest I could see is the casting shape looks similar to Clifton’s 770 plane but without the recessed ‘grips’, the bronze cap and slightly differing hardware. Can’t see any marking on it. Wondering if they used an existing plane design at Clifton or had an earlier model etc in their own line.. no idea.
Has a Ray Iles iron fitted, and it looks at home on it albeit a bit ‘fresh’, the plane looks older perhaps? or just knocked about maybe.
4 1/8″ long, 1 1/8″ wide
Would appreciate any thoughts, .

I think it is craftsman made, using an aftermarket Iles iron.
Thanks for the reply, John.
I think you could be right about it being craftsman made.
I have a few more 'odd' planes I'd be grateful for your thoughts on?
This one Iv'e had for years, looks to have an 'R' cast into the bed, 'Holburn Duplex' stamped on the iron?
