   in 54" widths. In the frozen north wasteland you can make a
   54" x 24" bag for about $25.00

   *Thanks, Don... I will certainly check that out. How do you construct a bag with a fitting that is airtight? In other words, how do you "graft in" the fitting into the side of the bag such that there is no air leaks? Also, do you use a special type of adhesive on the bag to create the seal on the sides?

   *If you used acoustic sealant (blackest, stickiest stuff I ever worked with), Jim, you'll get a good seal that'll stay pliable. My plastic bag has been sitting rolled up for a few years now, and it''s still usable. Just don't use so much that it gets on your project.. Another option is to use raw rubber tape, of the type that glass installers use.

   *jim:I own a 30 mil bag and if I had it to do all over again, I'd opt for a 20 mil. I think for the occassional use I subject it to, the 20 mil would be sufficiently strong and much more pliable. I'm curious about the acoustic sealant mentioned. Mike King: what exactly is this stuff?

   *Hey, thanks, Fred. I bought one (20 mil) since I started this question on the discussion board. I love it. 20 mil is certainly all I need. Now, If I could find a vacuum pump at a reasonable price....Mine broke last night in the middle of a project!!!!!Jim
