I was thinking about getting a set-up for sharpening my jointer and planer knives. Does anyone have the grizly T10010 and the T10025 attachement? It’s kind of expensive, is it worth it?
Does anyone have something they would recommend other than the T10010.
Maybe I’d be smarter just sending then out like I always have.
Thanks, Bret

I've been using the Makita 9820-2 for years. I've sharpened 15" planer knives with great results.
Makita here
I have the Makita 9820-2 (horizontal water stone), as well. Works well, as long as you remember to manage the water feed/outlet.
Makita are good tools to have. Very sturdy.

Time and expense...
If you're running a high production shop, with lots of BF run through each week a service will be faster. (Time is money.)
You'll need two sets of knives for each machine.
If you're a solo operation, with lower feed through - the annual cost of sharpening should be less than the device cost. (In that case, Money is Money.)
I know that the rhythm of the shop can require occasional rest, so the sharpening step can be a break, or sorts.
It comes down to how you want to spend your time - cutting wood or sharpening steel. Both have merit, and "grati"factions.
