An ad for the ‘downdrafter’ for SCMS’s in the FWW classifieds caught my attention. Could this be the silver bullet for SCMS dust collection? Any user feedback? http://www.downdrafter.com/index.htm

That's a pretty expensive dust hood. from reading the articles on the website it sounds like all you get is a dust hood and hose for $300. it's a good idea, but i doubt they'll sell many at that price. any skilled woodworker could make a similar one for a lot less, but then I haven't seen the thing up close so maybe I'm missing something
Geeeesh, that's an expensive piece of plastic!
Absolutley! It does have the rail and truck ####'y and a swivel/tilt mechanism, but $300 ouch. I'd still like to here from anyone that's used one.John O'Connell - JKO Handcrafted Woodworking

This looks (well, looked) very interesting until I saw the price.
One of my todos has been to build something like this (probably immovable and larger) for my DeWalt SCMS. Out of quarter inch ply it'd cost pennies compared to this puppy and probably work as well.
Just my opinion, of course.
