Anybody Have the Jessem Mitre Slide?
I currently just use my Incra Mitre gauge for all of this type of work. It works, although this method definitely has its drawbacks with regard to accuracy, and safety, since my push point is so far away from the actual cut. Jessem products (at least the ones I own) are rock solid, but I am curious as to whether performs as good as it looks like it would, or if it is overkill. Not that I mind a little overkill, but does it outperform a mitre gauge to a significant degree?

i have the jessem and i just recently bought it after reading reviews of several brands. i've never used the incra ones. the jessem is rock solid and heavy, but i really like it. i tried to read between the lines of the review and it was the last paragraph that caught my attention. the reviewer said that he had many choices of after market guages around his shop, but the one he personally reaches for most often is the jessem. this is the only aftermarket guage i've ever owned. i wanted the best from the start and in my mind that's what i got. hope this is helpful to you.

I have installed the JessEm mast-r- slide on a Delta cabinet saw. The slider is built like a rock and glides like it's on ice. It's pretty easy to adjust for tightness. My only gripe is that it doesn't have preset detents, The adjustments are to a line so settings are subject to parallax. I much prefer the JessEm Mite-r-excel miter gauge which has indexing pins adjustable to 1/2 degree.

I have the JessEm Mite-r-excel miter gauge on my PM2000 TS. It is a very solid, accurate, well-engineered piece.
I purchased one in December but haven't got around to installing it yet. I too am a little concerned that there are no presets or detents for the various angles as there are on most all the non sliding gauges on the market. Although I purchased it more to square up small to mid size panels, than to cut larger miters, for the few cabinets that I build. If I get to building a lot of cabinets and it doesn't prove satisfactory then I'll probably upgrade to a real European sliding miter, panel scoring type saw.

I seriously considered the purcase of the Jessem. (I have their router stuff and it is great.) Then I looked at the features and performance of my JoinTech sliding miter gauge plate and realized I already had the whole enchilada - rock solid, precise, easy to put in place or remove. I saved the money and am happy.
