I found a company selling tools they call Delta/Invicta. They look and awful lot like Delta tools. Anybody know what the story is?

Chuck --at one time Delta was selling the tools they were importing from South America [Brazil, I think] as Delta/Invicta. I don't know if that's still so, since most stuff is made in the Orient now. Maybe someone else can add to this.
Hmmmmm Anydody know how they compared with current quality?
Well, I thought that the Invicta shapers were exellent machines. If they were any indication of the rest of the line I would not hesitate to recomend them. Fit and finish was equal to any euro machine and parts were generally easier to find through Delta. ( we wore out the brake band after several years of hard use) Yes, they are among my favorites.

Chuck,
They are indeed made in Brazil, They used to build for Delta and then decided to go it alone. They make good stuff in fact I plan to buy their 16 inch jointer in the near future. I wouldn't hesitate if I were you.

I don't know anything about the machines, but I have read references to the Delta machines made in Brazil being the best machines Delta had to offer. The DJ20 jointer which was made in Brazil has been a shop mainstay for a long time.
