Anyone built a panel press TABLE?
I’ve been working with a big vacuum press bag that is open at one end. When I have to press many panels at once, or a large panel, it is a real PITA to climb inside the bag to arrange the platens and stuff. Been eyeballing the tables, but they’re well over $1K!
So I’m thinking of building my own. Anyone with tips, or ideas on making that critical seal? I do enough veneering work to warrant this, but I can’t pull the trigger unless I have a surefire way to create a tight seal easily.

I've never heard of a panel press table. Could you point me to a site so I can at least see what they are? Thanks.
He is talking about a frame press or a flip top. Essentially a vacuum sheet with hinged rigid frame that folds down onto a table and is using like a vacuum bag with a seal around the preimeter of the frame. Check http://www.joewoodworker.com for some instructions.
Thanks. The link is a good veneering reference site.
Are you talking about something like this?

mapleman, quit teasing! Care to give tips on making that seal? I went to Joe WW site and read his article. His design will work...I'm looking to refine it some more. I'm looking to make a 50x105" panel press.
Tuf,
I'm at the library checking email and have to get back to work - I'll post some info tonight when I get home.
