I am looking at buying a new 3hp cabinet saw. I would like to here some comments on Steel City’s cabinet saw. I have not had a chance to look at them yet. I here they will be at a woodworking show in St. Louis the first weekend in Feb. If anyone has one I would appreciate your thoughts.
Thanks.

Evening CJ..
I have looked at them briefly at both the IWF show in Atlanta and Redmond and Son Machinery here. My time was mainly consumed with their BS as I specifically was making a comparison to existing competitors in that class, so briefly best describes it.
I felt that the quality was excellent from what I saw, but did not crawl under the hood of any of them. What really did catch my eye was the titanium top model. That was worth a second look.
I would take a close look at it and the entire line when you get to the show. That will tell you what you need to know..

I do not own any of the Steel City products but I have seen them at several shows now and had long discussions with their tech staff. I was complaining that TS manufacturers should include a cover for their tops because of the rusting problems. I was directed to one of their new machines that has a titanium (?) coating on the top. Seems to be an excellent idea.
They seem to have some innovative ideas, I especially like their mortising machine.
If you buy one, give us some feedback.
Good luck!
