Does anyone have any knowledge of, or experience with this multipurpose guide tool. It is called a “Bee-Line Super Guide”.
They have a web site with the address of www.beelinesuperguide.com and there is also a video you can watch. I might be interested in one of these because it seems so versatile….can even use it with a chain saw for ripping or slabbing. I am interested to see if anyone can tell me anything about it from personal experience.

This invention is the type that can really take off in the age of the internet. If you haven't already, take a look at the "Bee-Line Story" page and look at the video. While some of the claims are a bit extravagant, that's just marketing. I hope they do well with it.
Favor to ask: If you have broadband and a few spare minutes, could you take a look at the video download and tell me if he demos a chain saw and how it looks? I watched the dial-up download, but the video is tiny and I couldn't see much.

He does demo a chain saw but doesn't say anything about how it is attached.

Apparently there is a special chain saw attachment. sold separately, of course. IMHO, it doesn't look beefy enough to prevent a chainsaw bar from wandering side to side (resulting in wavy cuts). The 3x6 aluminum rail on a logosol barely is, and I think that would be much stiffer.
Hi Forestgirl... I guess that one drawback of living in Paradise is that you have to put up with s-l-o-w dial-up connections. Try your 'local' library. Most libraries have fast (T1 or T3) connections, if not, they should have DSL. SawdustSteve
Good idea to go to the library, Steve! Actually, a good part of this Paradise has DSL capability, including my house and the store downtown. I just haven't put it into the budget yet, and haven't decided if I trust Qwest to get it done in a timely fashion. They really screwed up alot of accounts awhile back.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)Another proud member of the "I Rocked With ToolDoc Club" .... :>)
Ahhh, Qwest. I worked for them for about a year here in San Jose. I finally bailed out after the third job change in 12 months and I finally decided that nobody really knew where they wanted to go - or how to get there. - lol

After looking at the video I wood (couldn't resist) have to say it is mostly a ripping guide for circular saws, recip saws etc. They start out with the slab from a log already sawed but don't show you how they got there. I saw some demo's of log milling machines at the local Vancouver, B.C. woodworking show and they were much more substantial. Hope this helps, my opinion only.

Not to dis the bee line but have you folks seen this guide.

The guys over at Breaktime are giving it very high praise. Its quite portable and sections can be added to make it as long as you want. Also can get it with a router attatchment.
