Interested in hearing comments from people using design software from gizmolab. Why did you choose it over others, things you like and dislike. What kind of learning curve?

Do you work for them? Just kidding (or not?). Anyway, I'm surprised this thread hasn't gotten some attention. I downloaded the free version, but am a complete klutz with this kind of program, so no joy yet. I'm realllllly pleased that someone took the time to write a program specifically for woodworkers.
Have you tried the free version???
As far as learning curve goes, that much depends on what kind of background you have in drawing (by hand) and computer-aided drawing. I used to think that one only had to know the computer thing to use CAD easily. Got incredibly frustrated with various programs, then talked to a CAD-man extrodinnaire, and was told that being able to hand-draw really helps. Not in my DNA, unfortunately.

I have not tried the free program yet. I was playing a bit with sketchup and then saw an add for gizmolab. Before I spend to much energy on one or the other, (I'm sure there are similarities) I thought I get some feedback from anyone who is using it. The "desiogned for woodworkers" is what caught my eye.
I just took a quick look at it so I'm not sure what my opinion is worth. It looks to me like a good program for cabinetry. I don't think it's as easy to use as Sketchup however. I didn't care for the somewhat klutsy interface. I do like the material takeoff capabilities and the parametric modelling.
