I purchased the apollo 1000 last year around Christmas time, and have been quite happy with it. I've sprayed water based finishes with great success, and I'd never used spray finish equipment before. Used it for exterior latex paint this fall on the garage door, took some time to adjust the spray, but it turned out well also..(added floetrol to the paint as recommended). Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase.
*Bill,Thanks for the feedback... bought my Apollo a couple of months ago. I have to say, I have been very pleased with the results! Most of all, the time I save Finishing my projects has all but paid for the unit already. I spray water base 75% of the time and oil only in the warm months. works great on both and would recommend it to anyone. Now I'm trying different brands of finish to see where I get the results I'm after. Have you found a finish that works best for you? Thanks again,Tom
*Hello,I would like to spray shellac as a sealer and to color pine kitchen cabinets. I have sprayed 1.5 cut orange/yellow shellac with great results on pine and maple to avoid bloching.I now want to change the color of the shellac a little bit. Any ideas about the mixture ratio of alcohol dyes? Can I mix the dye with premixed shellac?Any comments and ideas are welcome. Thanks, Antonio R.San Diego----------
