Saw this used somewhere and liked the idea of using it to clamp down the rings of a segmented bowl glue-up. I saw it on Amazon P7-HH Auto Adjust. Anyone use it or have any thoughts on it? Thanks

I looked it up... I feel ike some allthread rod, plywood flats, and wingnuts would serve that purpose better. I have no experience with the P7 thingy.
OK maybe it's a little better version of a $5 toggle clamp attached to a piece of threaded rod but not $40 better! A good price used ? Then maybe.
I don't like gizmos for hold downs. A good old fashioned holdfast works just great.
That was wasted money for me. For one thing, the included plastic lower "shoe" does not prevent damage to the workbench surface which is a no go. Got tired of finding a piece of wood scrap to prevent this. It now resides...I don't know where. I have been using Sjobergs hold down clamps for awhile, simple, inexpensive and they work well. https://www.leevalley.com/en-us/shop/tools/workshop/workbenches/benchtop-accessories/110724-sjobergs-hold-down?item=03A0273&utm_source=free_google_shopping&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=shopping_feed&gclid=CjwKCAjw9NeXBhAMEiwAbaY4lho6FVf864ctL6dJaDZvc_v6OL-jRlCrUf9y9pQXskDXrWwf4WZVaxoCNR8QAvD_BwE
Traditional hold downs are great but he is looking for a clamping action. I assume he would like some more granular control than a whack with a mallet. The Armor and Rockler both gave irregular clamping pressure so not so "auto" as they should be. I returned them. The Bessey's have been great but do not come with all the bells and whistles.
