A friend mentioned if I were to use Armorall as a finish over any other that I might have on a turning project it would protect it to some extent from UV light. Does anyone know if this is in fact true? Also could it damage any finish that might already be on the wood? Thanx, RB

Id avoid it. Armorall and its clones attract dust, has a greasy feel and require too much maintence to keep it looking its best.
I think its also a silicone based product. That means if it is, a future laquer based finish will be nothing but a nightmare.
Thanx for the imput, I will certainly take your advice. RB
Dittos on staying away from the Armorall. If you really need that sort of protection, I believe there are polyurethanes that will block out UV rays. Perhaps that's the way to go.

Thanx for the advice, I'll follow it, don't want to ruin any expensive wood. RB
