I had seen many artificial stones/rocks that were made with concrete. They look very real. Can anyone tell me where I can buy books/video that will teach me how to make them?

Paul,
How large do you need these to be?
Do you need them to be moveable?
Will they be interior or exterior?
I have built faux rocks for zoo exhibits and may have some suggestions.
Hi Chris,I am referring landscaping in the back yard or arround the pool outside the house. It is small to medium size that I want to do. The rocks are not to be movable.I also want to learn to make tree trunks with concrete. Do you have any information? Many thanks.Paul
I don't have any specific information. I have made both fake trees and rocks, but don't remember the "recipes" I used. I made my own blend of portland, sifted sand, concrete dye, and an acrylic additive.I simply just smeared into onto stainless lathe and then formed it with rubber moulds I cast from actual trees, rocks, etc.I'll see if I can dig anything up.
NO.. BUT.. I have made some... I did a 'cast' of some real stones I liked.. Random sizes but fit together well in a random pattern....
Just plaster casts which I made and some 'rubber?' molds from that...I got the 'rubber stuff' off the net someplace..
Key I found out was... Coloring within the cement.. Random mixes sturred in...
AND NO AIR bubbles!
