Hi I just bought two sets of the Iles English Pattern chisels from Tools for Working Wood. They are very nicely made and take a good sharp edge. They are big tools compared with LNs or Stanley 750s.
They offer an American Pattern also that is smaller, I think.
I bought them as gifts for my two older Sons to start them out with good tools. So being new for Christmas, I can't speak to the edge holding abilities yet, but my initial impression is that they are very good quality.

Really good steel BUT the round handles will let the chisels roll on a table top. I still like them though.
Take a look at Dastra professional woodcarving tools made in Germany since 1835

I have the Ashley Isle's American Cabinet-makers which feel totally balanced and a part of my hand. And if someone wanted mine.. they would have to pry it from my hand at gun-point.
Well made.. good edge that will hold as long as you don't open metal cans with thick lids or substitute them for screw-drivers. ha.. ha...

I have a couple--7/8" & 1/2". The 7/8" had an edge that crumbled rather easily until I had sharpened back nearly 1/4". Now it holds rather well. The 1/2" had no issues at all.
Mine are the English pattern handles (larger) and I like the feel (my hands are medium size). Chisel handles are really a matter of preference--you have to try them to see what you like! Further, the more you use a tool and become accustomed to it, the more (at least me) I like it.
I will probably add a few more AI's through the coming months.
