Asked on Breaktime – nobody seems interested in software
I’m looking for software that I can use for estimating and cost tracking. I searched the archives and the last discussion I found was from 2004. I worked as a carpentry project manager for 5 yrs. at the end of the eighties; so I’m used to doing a line by line materials/labor estimating. But it’s time to put down the pencil and avail myself of 21st century technology. Even though I have good programming skills I don’t have the time. Please help me catch up. Thanks, good to be back.
p.s. For both remodeling and custom woodwork

check out SketchUp Pro
I don't have Pro (I fine the free version does my work) but do get emails on what is available. Look at SketchUp url

for the ESTIMATOR Extension.
There is another Extension called PLUSSPEC that supposedly helps with estimating.
