Hi all.
Can anyone understand how this solid seat is attached to this chair frame?

I need to do a similar concept but I can’t figure out how this is attached without seasonal movement being an issue. Maybe it’s some sort of expansion bracket attached to the back of the front rail?

Probably a sliding dovetail.
On blowing up the image it looks like the grain of the seat might be running the same way as the stretchers. I think the lines I see are contour lines, not end grain. If that's the case then gluing the seat to the front stretcher becomes an option, forcing the movement to the rear. The sides of the seat would be the end grain and could be captured in dados in the side rails (if there are any, can't tell from the photo).
what about screws through the front stretcher into the bottom of the seat? Oversize the holes in the stretcher to allow for movement. And do we know that there are no front to back stretchers, connecting the rear leg to the front rail? Could screw through those as well.
