I have built a 6 foot section and 5 foot section of tall bookcases. The crown molding is a simple flat face with the edges cut at an angle. What is the correct way to attach the crown molding to the top of the cabinets? Thanks.

If the molding has the correct spring angle on it, it should allow the molding to lie flat where it meets the ceiling and cabinet. Nail into the top and bottom of the molding where it meets those places.
If the molding doesn't reach the ceiling, you'll have to add a filler strip cut at the proper angle before adding the molding.
