I just finished some drawers for a desk I am making. The drawers are made of 1/2″ birch ply. I am going to be attaching solid oak faces to these drawers. What is the best way to attach the faces? Is it okay to glue them up?
Thanks for any advice

MT,
I drill the holes for handles first, then line up the fronts and temporarily drive screws through the handle holes into the drawer. This holds it perfectly aligned while I drive screws from the drawer side into the front. I also get longer machine screws that reach all the way from the drawer inside to the handle so that pulling on the handle pulls against the drawer inside.
Hope this helps.

I always assume that at some point, the furniture will need to be refinished. For that reason alone, I like to screw faces on because it makes it real easy to refinish.
I'm refinishing a nice old dresser in which the fronts are dovetailed. It's a real bear trying to strip an aged finish off and redo a lot of very large drawers without damaging the rest of the drawer. For a desk, which is llikely to get battered by a chair, I'd definitely mechanically attach the drawer faces if it's not intended to be a museum piece. That'll make repairs easy.
