I have the same problem. I've tried to post some pictures, followed the instructions, but nothing works.
Same here, I have a Mac, I ended up sending the pictures to somebody else to post.C.
Same here AND I got a GOOD puter.. Not sure about the operator though!
Chances are, you have a pop-up blocker that's keeping the window from opening up. You need to tell the blocker to "accept" pop-ups from the forum site. How to do this depends on the pop-up blocker you are using. Hopefully, you don't have more than one running.

Thank you, thank you thank you! This is just the information I need.
Goodly, goodly, goodly! Have fun!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I would if I could but! Past the pop up blocker and, thanks to your links, have found the Sandbox but am still lost.
I will try a Post-it and keep taking the pills.
To everyone having problems, if you haven't told us what operating system you use, and which browser please do so. That will help tremendously!forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Forestgirl,
I have the Dell 4700 running Windows XP and have the full boat McAfee protection. Pretty much computer ignant when it comes to stuff like overriding the system. I've tried to do this for a cookie for ordering from Internet Lumber with no success; I still have to call them to order. Any help would be appreciated. PM if you want...Tim
Dances: Well, you have the right operating system for the easiest forum browsing, as all sysop folks design for Windows. See my post to Matt above for instructions on turning off the Windows-based pop-up blocker, then try to find the instructions for the McAfee pop-up blocker.
I try to have only one pop-up blocker running at a time, so it's easy to know which one to deal with when setting exceptions to the blocking behavior. So many different programs come with PUB's that it can drive you nuts. I can't help you with McAfee, sorry to say. It came with both of our computers, but I had so much trouble with the firewall that I uninstalled it and got a different firewall and virus protection.
One of the things to watch for in various secruity products, as far as I'm concerned, is how easy they make it for you to make your own decisions. Take Microsoft Security for example -- you have to be a mole or a ferrett to find that one little checkbox that allows you to turn off their pop-up blocker. Obviously, they don't want me using a different pop-up blocker. But the one I use allows me to simply click on an icon in my tool-bar to add a particular site to my "allow" list. P^sses me off!!
Best of luck.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Thank you once again. I turned off the pop-up blocker and I'll see if I can find an old thread that I wanted to post on. Between your info and that from sysops it may just work. It kinda' stinks being an "old dog" and trying to learn new tricks! But it's interesting.
I have an I-Mac OS X 10.3.9 and I use Safari as a browser.Thanks,C.
You may be doomed with that combination. I don't know for sure, but it seems browsers other than Internet Explorer have their problems. I think Netscape, Firefox and Mozzila may have some success, but Safari? Hmmmmmm, I dunno. And Macs have some problems with the forum, if I recall correctly ("IIRC")forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Attn: Windows XP Users
This version of the operating system has a built-in pop-up blocker, so changing this setting on your browser doesn't make any difference.
To open pop-up windows in XP you MUST hold down the "ctrl" button when you click on a link to a pop up.

Thank you. I will give that a try.
Matt (and ALL), I think there is a way to turn it off, but yes, it's not directly in the browser settings.
Start>>Control Panel>>Security Center
Click on Internet Options. Go to Privacy and remove checkmark from Block Pop-ups box. [Only recommended if you love pop-ups, or if you have another program you're using to block them.]
This checkbox does not show up when simply using the Tools menu from the top of Internet Explorer.
The other option is to give a given site an "exception" to be allowed to pop up. In the same location as described above, there is a Settings button. Turn the pop-up blocker on, and click on Settings and add the domain name of the site you want to allow (e.g., forums.taunton.com)

Mr Berger
Have you considered putting all this 'trouble shooting' stuff in an accessible/visible folder somewhere handy? There must be heaps of people who have tried attaching files, had no sucess, and just gone away!
Malcolm
Since Matt's probably asleep, I'll try answering -- there's a "How to" section in the works. Matt posted a thread about it a couple weeks ago.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Thanks, missed that!
Too much to read
