I aplogize if this is a duplicate of a question I asked last week but I’m not sure the email was sent.
I connected a solid oak top to a base cabinet using “S” shaped hardware that is screwed to the top with a tongue that rides in a slot in the base cabinet top rails. I did this in several locations along the length of the piece but also added some at the ends and mid rails – running 90 degrees to the length connections. Since the hardware is designed to allow the top to move lengthwise, I’m wondering if I am defeating the function of the hardware and potentially causing a problem for normal wood movement. I have a picture that I can email if that is helpful.
thanks
