I just received a new Auriou cabinetmaker’s rasp. Unfortunately I mistakenly got a left-handed rasp instead of a right-handed rasp (I am right handed). Before I return this tool (bought mail order from Lee-Valley) I am wondering if it makes a big enough difference – that is will I notice it when using it- to warrant returning it?
(I have no doubt about LV willingness to exchange it- their customer service has always been outstanding- that is not the issue)
thanks for any suggestions
Jeff

Both
Personally, I think it would serve you well to have both. There is always that time when you want to attack something from the other direction. But at the Price of those rasps, I'd have to think twice about having both. I've got R & L skewed chisels and use the them when needed for the odd ball cut.
