I have been using a chinto rasp and #49and#50 nicolsons on legs and I want to purchase a auriou cabinet rasp so I am looking at the 10″ 11g is this a good choice between the 9g-15g range.

Alan,
if your main objective is to remove alot of material quickly then that would be a good choice...the #11 is fairly coarse but does a better job in my opinion than the Nicholsons with abit more control...the marks left behing clean up pretty easily with some hand sanding..I have several Aurious and use them fairly frequently.
thanks for taking the time to give me this imformation,do you think I should go from the #11 to a #13 and is there any advantige in doing so.
Well, I do simply because the #13 smooths it more and allows me to fine tune the curve or whatever shape I'm trying to refine...In my somewhat limited experience I would say it's not necessary but if you can afford the finer rasp in addition to the #11 then certainly buy it...like all variations on a tool design, your options increase with number of tools you have...or, at least that's how I explain it to my wife....
