I would like to make and attach an auxiliary fence to my Ridgid TS3650 instead of using the bare aluminum of the fence as I am now. I have been thinking about this for awhile now and I think the best material for this would be PVC coated phenolic like the fences on my JessEm Mast-R-Fence but in 1/2” thickness but I have no idea where one would buy such material. I have purchased smaller pieces at Woodcraft that they sell as blank router plates which I have cut up and use for my ZCTP’s for the saw. Another possibility is the Phenolic faced plywood that Woodcraft also sells. I have also considered Melamine faced boards and possibly Formica covered Baltic Birch. <!—-><!—-><!—->

What are you guys thoughts on the best material to use for this purpose?<!—-> <!—->

You might try a piece of Delrin ( Acetal resin). You can buy it from plastic suppliers ( Commercial Plastics or Curbell) or a general industrial supplier like MSC Industrial Supply. Delrin is very stable and will give you a nice smooth surface. It can be pricy but you only buy it once ( you hope)
Good luck.

I FIND THAT 3/4" MDF WITH A MELAMINE SURFACE MAKES GOOD AUX. FENCE MATERIAL.
KW,
I just replaced the UHMW faces on my Xacta TS fence with this stuff

As far as I can tell it's flat to within .002 and the surface is slick as snot. Have not had an opportunity to try it yet as the fianl hours in my shop last night were spent fine tuning the fence.
