Greetings Knots:
Fine Woodworking editors attending the AWFS woodworking industry tradeshow in Las Vegas this week will be taking questions in Knots about all things tools.
If you can’t make it to the show but have a question for a manufacturer, post it here and we’ll see what kind of answer we can drum up. Editors will be walking the convention center floor for the next three days and we’ll answer questions as we can get to them.
Follow our continued coverage of the show online at www.finewoodworking.com/editorsblog

Matt,
1) Last year saw some Delta attempts as better drillpress for woodworkers but still they were not all we need (very long quill travel, inbuilt microadjust table etc.). Is there any manufacturer looking to make the perfect woodworkers' DP? I use mine a lot but am forever cursing its lack of this or that capacity or convenience.
2) I like the Woodrat but could imagine a beefier version more like a woodworkers' milling machine - similar to the metalworkers' but for furniture-making. It would have tighter tolerances in the gibbways, microadjusters and a variety of ready-made work holders for commonly-made furniture parts. There would be a variety of tooling and an inbuilt motor/spindle, like arouter but integrated into the machine. Is such a thing being contemplated by any manufacturer?
Are any manufcturers thinking of, or actually making, a high quality plow or dado plane?
